The sweater Lee Harvey Oswald was wearing when Jack Ruby shot him in the basement of the Dallas Police Department.. Oswald was being transitioned from the downtown Dallas Police Department to the county jail. The sweater shows a tear in the lower abdomen, where the bullet entered, and tears where the Parkland Hospital staff cut open his shirt prior to surgery.

J.W. Fritz's memorial photograph on the site, Find a Grave
Lawman, Kennedy Assassination Figure. As head of the Dallas Police Department's Robbery-Homicide unit in 1963, he was Lee Harvey Oswald's primary interrogator. Law enforcement officers led by him interrogated Oswald over the less than 48 hours between his arrest and death. John Fritz was present for more of the questioning than any other officer.

Jack Ruby calls Lee Harvey Oswald an S.O.B.
Jack Ruby, after being arrested by officers of the Dallas Police force, calls his victim, Lee Harvey Oswald, an S.O.B. L. D. Montgomery recalls Ruby's statement in his testimony for the Warren Commission Report on March 24, 1964. L. D. Montgomery was one of the few officers that tackled Ruby shortly after his assassination of Lee Harvey Oswald, and one of the few Police inspectors present at most of the interrogations of both Oswald and Ruby.
